Poetry Thursday

Overcast

Jean L. Connor

The day, of no great merit,
ended — a dandelion gone to seed,
minutes squandered, hours spent,
no bright gold. Yet in the ledgered

plainness of the day, overcast, common,
some subtle brush of meaning
held me. Was it those unexpected
words of thanks, or the single lilac

plunged in a paper cup,
there on a stranger's desk?
Something, a fragrance,
lingered well past dusk.

Hey Lisa! You are a doll. You linked Greyn on your site. I shall return the honor on Greyn's website the next time our web guy (my drummer) updates it. The more people aware of Greyn outside Belgium, the better of course (for us anyway!). Thanks for supporting us. Very kind indeed. Nothing like more google hits. And maybe when we do pre-sales through our site for our full-length CD to come out in the late spring 2006, we can get some of you Americans to advance purchase it too ;-)! Thanks again mate!

SRA, Love, I will blogroll your fine work anytime. I love your comments, and seeing your face and Heidi's everyday is the best. How's the eye? And the tummy?

Anonymous, what can I say? You sure seem to get around. I'll check out your box as long as you don't ask to check out mine.
